Maps to compare and contrast: IFC Capitals amended development plan and vegetation classification by Teresa James

Below is IFC Capitals proposal as lodged with the NSW Department of Planning. As you will see when compared with the map by Teresa James (below) the majority of the proposed development area contains Castlereagh Swamp Woodland and Castlereagh Ironbark Forest which are both listed as Endangered Ecological Communities and supposedly protected by the NSW Government Threatened Species Conservation Act (TSC Act). Within these development areas are large numbers of endangered plant species including, Persoonia nutans.

Vegetation mapping of the Cranebrook site by Botanist Teresa James. Teresa was employed by the NSW Government Dept of Environment and Climate Change to map the sites vegetation. This occurred  when IFC Capital participated in the Biodiversity Banking trial in 2007. Teresa is still arguing that a full site survey is needed to properly assess the sites flora and fauna.
